INSTRUCTIONS
Week1:
In the first week of class, we were assigned to our respective groups and the instructor told us about the overall task distribution for this semester.
Ms. Vitiyaa introduced the course content to us in detail, and focused on the specific requirements of our major in this course. She provided us with a table, which served as a guide to help us understand and plan the task more clearly. We need to follow the prompts in the table to complete the design research of major 1 step by step
092024 Major Project Non-UI_UX Proposal Brief:
This week I discussed the design theme with my group and did some simple research to support our ideas. I thought a lot about the next steps and discussed with the group to finalize our initial ideas.
We had a group discussion and came up with three ideas:
- Chinese Tea Culture - Lingnan Tea Culture
- Oriental Perfume - Chinese porcelain (Blue and White Porcelain)
- Noise Visualization
I want to design a brand, and my three ideas are not baseless—they are the result of careful thought and consideration. Each idea carries its own unique significance and value. I have not only taken market demand into account but also thought about how these concepts can integrate into real life and bring a positive impact to people. Through these ideas, I aim to create a brand that is both culturally profound and capable of meeting the needs of modern consumers.
We only did the relevant mind maps.

Here are our suggestions for branding for these three ideas:
Week2:
We have determined our brand positioning, which is to create a fragrance brand with unique oriental charm, combining the tea culture and blue and white porcelain elements of Lingnan, as the inspiration and source of flavor for packaging design. However, our goal is not just to create a fragrance brand, but to build a complete and rich brand system with cultural levels.
Our design will cover many aspects, including brand visual identity, packaging design, publication design (such as brand fragrance introduction manuals), website design and social media promotion.
In addition, in addition to brand perfume products, we plan to expand into a wider range of personal care products, such as bath, body essential oils and other cleaning products to enrich the brand route.
This week, I did market research on perfume and analyzed the background, strengths and weaknesses of two perfume brands.
Week3:
When we first created the brand, we were not clear about the meaning and purpose of this perfume brand, so we rethought the meaning of creating this brand. After discussion, we confirmed that the final meaning of the brand is: a fragrance brand that relieves stress, eases mood, and helps people sleep. We conducted some research and investigation on this.
Perfume_WEEK 3I conceived and developed the concept of the perfume.

This is my logo design.
Finally we chose the logo in the upper left corner.

Week5
This week we decided on the perfume products we needed to make, and in class we decided on our logo design. We were missing a sketch of the perfume packaging, so we completed the sketch and submitted it after class that day.

We had an in-depth discussion on the content to be designed and completed the first draft design of the brand. On this basis, we plan to further optimize and improve the first draft. First, we need to refine the visual elements of the brand, including the coordination of color matching, the consistency of the overall style, and the design details that are in line with the brand concept. As a perfume brand focusing on aromatherapy, scent design is of vital importance. We will conduct in-depth research on the combination of different scents to better fit the core concept of the brand and truly achieve the effect of relieving stress and helping sleep.
We continued to do some research and analysis on existing brands and started to prepare for the design of brand logos. We asked some questions about perfume and conducted an online survey on perfume.

This week our group started the final packaging design. We referred to the packaging and posters of some aromatherapy brands on the Behance website, which gave us some inspiration.
I was responsible for designing the brand's website, 3 poster designs, 2 stand poster designs, the cover design and content of the perfume brochure, the display table, and the exhibition area scene design.
Here is my design process.
Week6
This week, I made some changes based on the suggestions from Ms. Vitiya and Ms. Anis.
Below are all my designs.

FEEDBACK
Week2:
Miss Vitiyaa looked at our three ideas and suggested that we choose perfume as the core brand design, because perfume can be expanded to shower gel, shampoo, body oil and other cleaning products, as well as essential oils, etc. A lot of packaging designs can be made for these.
Week3:
Miss Vitiyaa believes that we do not have a specific and convincing brand meaning and goal, and we need to re-discuss and determine it.
Week4:
We needed to sketch quickly and move forward. The questionnaire did not need to be put in the slides, but could be explained in the blog. Miss Vitiyaa gave us some suggestions for modifying the questionnaire
Week5:
Since each of us had made several logos, we asked Ms. Vityaa to choose one for us this Wednesday, and she gave a good reason. At the same time, we needed to speed up our progress so that the project could move forward.
Week6:
This week we each provided design drawings and mockups. Ms. Vitiyaa and Ms. Anis looked at our designs and gave us some feedback: Ms. Anis adjusted the display form of our logo to make it look more integrated. We don't have any big problems with the design, but we need to make it clear that our perfumes, candles, essential oils and other products all have one scent, one flower, and one color, and need a unified design that must be consistent with the main brand. The mall promotional poster (POST) must contain key information to ensure clarity and readability.
Week 7:
We need to put the content of the brochure inside the PPT of the presentation. The poster uses the wrong logo, but there is no big problem in the design3_
REFLECTION
Experience
Throughout this course, we collaborated on a challenging graduation project to create a fragrance brand, applying our design and marketing knowledge. Our work included packaging, posters, and a presentation, enhancing our teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity under real-world constraints.
Observation
Structured collaboration was crucial, with each member handling specific tasks, from brand identity to visual execution. We learned that branding extends beyond aesthetics, requiring research into market trends, target audiences, and storytelling to build emotional connections.
Findings
Brand creation involves more than design—it requires research on fragrance composition, branding, and consumer psychology. Attention to detail, such as color and typography, shapes perception. Working as a team strengthened our creativity and adaptability, preparing us for future careers.
