Experience:
The study of typography is a very new course for me. It is very important to me, and it is also very challenging because I have never understood the knowledge of typography in detail before. Through this semester's study, I know the importance of font form and typography, and these are very common in our daily lives, and they have been completely integrated into our daily lives. I learned about the development history of fonts, different font forms have different ways of expression, poster layout and so on.
At the same time, we have learned a lot of software applications this semester. For example, we need to use Adobe Illustrator to design fonts, In Design to adjust typesetting, and FontLab to design our own fonts.
Among them, I think designing my own fonts is the hardest for me. To design your own font, you need to start by designing hand-drawn sketches, and then choose the most satisfactory one to use Illustrator to design the digital font. We need to constantly adjust our font to make it look more perfect, and then we need to import the font into FontLab to adjust the kerning of the font. There are many steps to designing a font and I think it's a bit complicated. However, it is still very fulfilling to finally design a font of my own.
Observation results:
After learning typography, I will more carefully discover the typography designs I encounter in life, which I have never noticed before. When I see some typography design, font design, and poster design in life, I will start to think about why the author designed it this way.
In general, the typography design course not only allowed me to learn the knowledge of font typesetting and the application of software, but also cultivated my ability to observe and think.

Through the study of typography, I found that I learned a lot of new things in every project we did, and there was a connection between every project we completed. I also learned from this that typography is not just about looking beautiful, but also includes many small details. For example, some very subtle differences and adjustments to word spacing can cause readers to have a different view of the work. The layout is also adjusted so that readers can quickly grasp what the author wants to express.
Overall, this course not only allowed me to learn the knowledge in the classroom, but also cultivated my habit of observing and thinking about typography that appears in daily life.
